description: Should we read some photo books before the walk? Last year, we hosted a book reading event before the photo walk at Dirty Martin's, and it turned out great. This month, we're doing it again at @freddoat, also known as the Walter Tips House. We'll bring a few books to share and read together. Feel free to bring your favorites too. It'll be a fun chance to talk about photography while enjoying some good drinks. Freddo is an amazing spot on South Congress! Lefty (the owner) is super nice! History time: The Walter Tips House was built in 1876 and designed in the Victorian Italianate style. Walter Tips served as a Confederate Army officer during the Civil War and later as a Texas state senator from 1893 to 1896. He also helped found the Austin National Bank and was a respected civic leader. Today, the Walter Tips House stands as one of Austin's treasured architectural landmarks. There are even a few ghost stories connected to it! We'll be reserving a table to display the books, so please RSVP. That way, we can decide whether a private room will be needed. After the reading, we'll head out for the photo walk. For more details and updates, please join our Discord community and follow us on Instagram. (linked above!)
