description: Every day, thousands of people in our city face the challenges of homelessness, often invisible and unheard. On Sunday, August 17th, you have the opportunity to make a real difference by joining Street Samaritans for our monthly outreach drive. From 10 AM to 1 PM at TechNexus (20 N Wacker Drive), we’ll come together as a community to provide essential supplies like food, clothing, and care packages to individuals living unsheltered in downtown Chicago. But our work goes beyond giving items, we believe that human connection is the most powerful tool we have. Through authentic conversations, listening, and showing respect, we create moments of dignity and hope that can be truly transformative. The morning will begin with sorting clothing donations and assembling care packages, followed by a short orientation to prepare you with outreach tips and important context. Then, small teams led by passionate Street Samaritans staff and board members will head out into the streets to serve our neighbors. Whether this is your first time volunteering or you’ve joined us before, your presence matters. Together, we can foster a community where every person is seen, valued, and supported on their journey.
